Allergies

CBD helps reduce allergy symptoms.

Most everyone in Texas is familiar with the many allergies that stem from ragweed, cedar, mold, smoke from Mexico, and even a cold front blowing in. These allergens trigger a reaction in the body that at times feels almost like flu-type symptoms.

It is this reaction by the body that makes us feel so bad as it works to combat the invaders.

Medicines sold over the counter work by stopping the body from going into attack mode, and some people find these medicines very effective. Others do not. And sometimes these medicines work for a little while then suddenly stop being effective. Our bodies, like the weather, are constantly changing.

This is where CBD plays a role.

Our bodies are already setup to work with CBD as there are receptors (CB1 and CB2) scattered throughout the body. But primarily, these receptors are found in the brain and then less so in the immune system. It is this network of receptors that make up what is called the endocannabinoid system, or ECS for short.

The ECS regulates relaxation, eating, sleeping, certain inflammation responses and even cognitive function. In essence, your ECS is responsible for making sure your entire body is working optimally—no small task!

When allergies strike and our bodies go into attack mode we feel absolutely horrible because our bodies are reallocating its resources. It is a self defense mechanism. But the application of CBD to the ECS receptors allows the body to ‘’reset’’ to normal mode. Another way to look at it is that CBD is the oil to the gears that keeps everything operating smoothly.

CBD is available in a variety of forms:

Capsules that are ingested are typically designed to be taken one per day.

Spray/Drops is a thick oil-like substance that can be placed under the tongue with an eye dropper.

Each form of CBD can be effective and every user will find their own preference. Just be aware that different delivery systems are at play here. Swallowing a capsule of CBD will allow the active ingredients to pass through the digestive system while several drops placed under the tongue will be absorbed more quickly.

Note that each product type is formulated differently. You don’t want to place of few drops of vape e-liquid under your tongue nor would you break open a capsule for vaping. While the active ingredients are the same in each product those active ingredients are added to other natural components depending upon the desired method of delivery.
